How to Submit Your Team's Preferred Level of Competition

To ensure the most competitive and rewarding experience at Prep Hoops events, we rely on your accurate assessment of your team's skill level. This data allows our scheduling team to match you against teams of comparable talent for bracket seeding and scheduling.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Program Directors and Coaches can adjust these settings for each individual team within the dashboard:

1. Log in to your Program Dashboard.

2. Navigate to the Teams Tab and select the specific team you want to update.

3. Go to the Edit Team Tab.
   
   
    

4. Locate the Preferred Level of Competition dropdown menu and select your tier based on the following options:

   • A - Open / Elite National: Teams that consistently compete at the highest level nationally. Typically participate in Open divisions, National qualifiers, and major recruiting events. Expect strong depth and advanced systems.

   • B - American / Liberty / High Regional: Highly competitive teams that compete successfully in American, Liberty, USA, or similar divisions. These teams often travel regionally/ nationally and regularly contend for tournament championships.

   • C - Regional Competitive: Competitive regional teams that primarily compete within their state or surrounding region. These teams are experienced, well-coached, and capable of competing for local tournament titles but do not typically compete at the highest national levels.

   • D - Developmental / Lower Regional: Developing teams focused on player growth, skill development, and competition experience. These teams generally compete locally and may include newer players, newer teams, or athletes still building competitive experience.

5. Click Update Team to save your changes.

Deadlines & Adjustment Policy

• Adjust Anytime: Your team may evolve throughout the year. You can update your preferred tier at any point during the season by following the same steps.

• 7-Day Deadline: To allow our scheduling team enough time to place your team correctly, all tier adjustments must be saved at least 7 days prior to your upcoming event.

Please Note: While we make every effort to match your team based on your selection, final bracket placement depends on available team pools per division and is not guaranteed.

At larger events, we run multiple pools corresponding to each tier. Please be aware that labeled pools (Pool A, Pool B, Pool C, Pool D) do not equate to the A, B, C, D levels of competition. There will be high-quality teams matched up in every pool, and tournament designations are purely for scheduling logistics.
